Night & Red-Eye Airport Transfers in Taiwan: What to Know
Updated 2026-10-01 · 5 min read
Late arrivals and dawn departures are the hardest trips to organise — and the easiest to get right with a fixed-fare transfer. Here is how night transfers work and what to double-check.
The 23:00–05:59 night surcharge
Trips starting between 23:00 and 05:59 are subject to a night surcharge. It is included in the fare you see when you get a quote, so there are no surprises at pickup.
Flight tracking beats guessing
For late arrivals, add your flight number when booking. The driver follows the actual landing time, and delays do not add waiting fees. International arrivals get 90 minutes of free waiting from touchdown; domestic flights 30 minutes.
Why transfer instead of waiting for a train
Airport trains and buses do not run all night. A pre-booked transfer solves the 2 a.m. problem:
- Your driver is confirmed before you fly — no queue at the taxi rank.
- Fixed fare: no meter surprises and no night-rate guessing.
- Vehicle info is available in advance from the My Trips page.
- Free cancellation up to 4 hours before pickup if plans change.
Dawn departures: buffer math
For early flights, arrive at the airport 2.5–3 hours before departure. From central Taipei to Taoyuan that means allowing 45–60 minutes for the drive, plus a little more if your flight is on a Monday morning or the first day of a holiday.
